EuroWaste - at least someone is counting it

Pinkham Way is proposed in a wider world of studies and policies!
These are figures in a recent EuroStudy, for instance. (You will not want to read the full thing.)

Total waste generation in EU 27 countries in 2006:
2,954
million tonnes

of which,
Total generation of waste by households:
218
million tonnes
(Most is by 'construction/demolition', then by 'mining/quarrying'.
Pinkham Way would also take commercial waste
where it is collected by the boroughs, and maybe more.)

Overall total used for incineration:
128
million tonnes

Overall total going to landfill:
1,349
million tonnes

Recycling rate of households in 2005:
33%
(varies widely between countries)

That's enough figures.
