MOUTH London: "Europe’s biggest waste plant"

Link to web site

"The creation of the MBT plant will lead to increased air, noise and odour pollution. It is estimated the plant will process 300,000 tonnes of waste from seven London boroughs, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Material will be cleared and then vented out, possibly through a high chimney.

"Bounds Green will be hit hard the most, given that it is centered under the prevailing winds passing over the site. The developers have made no assessment of this, or the noise levels the machinery of the plant is likely to cause. Also in terms of odour, according to NWLA there are only plans to maintain rather then remove it. Add to this the idea that incineration may be a future goal, and you have a bigger problem."
