Barnet Press: "Rejected waste plan brings Pinkham Way into question"
Link to Barnet Press
"A CROSS-BOROUGH waste strategy that includes plans to build a major waste plant in New Southgate was 'stopped in its tracks' by planning officials on Friday.
"The North London Waste Plan, which sets out how seven north London boroughs – Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Camden, Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest – will establish common waste planning policies, was rejected by the planning inspectorate on the grounds that it was legally non-compliant.
"... The plan included proposals to make land available for the North London Waste Authority's 15,000 square metre waste processing plant in Pinkham Way. In August 2011 the NLWA decided to suspend its planning application for Pinkham Way until after the examination was concluded."
