North London Waste Plan: Legal? Sound? Justified, Effective, Consistent?

"The North London Waste Plan was submitted for an independent examination on Tuesday 28th February 2012. Andrew Mead BSc (Hons) MRTPI MIQ has been appointed to conduct the Examination.

"Pauline Butcher has been appointed as the Programme Officer for the Examination and will deal with all procedural, administrative and programming matters under the direction of the Inspector and will contact all those who made representations on the NLWP with details as they become available. Pauline’s contact details are:
Tel: 020 7974 6684
Email: ldfprogrammeofficer@tiscali.co.uk
Post: Pauline Butcher, North London Waste Plan, Camden Town Hall, London WC1H 8EQ.
"The public hearings for the Examination are expected to commence in the summer. Details will be added to this website as they become available. Anyone can attend the public hearings but the Planning Inspector will determine which of those organisations and individuals who have made representations on the Plan will be allowed to give further oral evidence during these hearings.

"The purpose of the Examination is to test whether the Plan meets legal requirements and is ‘sound’. To be considered sound, the Plan should be justified (i.e. based on robust and credible evidence), effective (i.e. capable of being delivered) and consistent with national policy.
