" 'Appalled' critics claim the ambitious Haringey Heartlands development -
sandwiched between Wood Green and Hornsey, and due to go to a planning
panel in the coming weeks - will completely destroy the vista from the
Palace with 'Soviet-style' housing blocks up to 10 storeys high.
"Colin Marr, chairman of the Alexandra Palace and Park Conservation
Area Advisory Committee, said:
"We do not object to height per se, and might have welcomed one or more higher buildings - it is the sheer bulk of the series of uninterrupted blocks that we find so objectionable.”
