North London Newspapers: "Residents fight to stop new waste centre on their doorstep"

Colin Parish, a journalist from Sydney Road who helped form the Pinkham Way Alliance against the proposals, stated:
"Nobody we have spoken to is in favour of this. Local people are very angry and worried."
Mark Petticrew, a professor of public health, who also lives in Sydney Road, warned noises and smells coming from the plant could be just the start:
"Gasses such as nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide [monoxide?] and methane have potential health impacts. Noise is another issue – the process uses mechanical drums, running 24 hours a day."
