[Reposted] Application for the registration of a town or village green

Link to Haringey web site

"Haringey Council has received an application to register the former Friern Barnet sewage works (Pinkham Way) as a town or village green."

"Land may qualify for registration as a town and village green where it has been used by a significant number of local residents for a period of more than 20 years for lawful sports and pastimes as of right.

"Registration of the land as a town or village green would protect the land, making it, amongst other things, a criminal offence to do anything that would stop use of the land for recreation and enjoyment.

"The Council is managing this application solely in its capacity as the Commons Registration Authority. This is separate from any other capacity, such as the Local Planning Authority."

How can I have my say?

"Local residents can now submit comments by making a representation/statement of facts to the Commons Registration Authority. Regulations mean the Council must publish notice of the application and consider objections to it. All submissions will, however, be put before the Independent Assessor conducting the inquiry for consideration.

"You can submit a representation/statement of facts by post to:
Haringey Council, Commons Registration Authority
7th Floor River Park House
225 High Road, Wood Green
London, N22 8HQ
Alternatively, you can email it to: commons.regauthority@haringey.gov.uk.
The closing date for submissions is Friday 20 July."
