Evening Standard: "Are Boris's Thames Estuary plans a fantasy worth realising?"

Link to Evening Standard

"The multi-billion-pound development would have four runways on two islands, each measuring three miles by one mile, and be linked to terminals on the mainland by tunnels, bridges or causeways. It would be powered by giant water turbines that rely on the energy created by the rising and falling tide.

"The terminals in Kent and Essex would be linked to high-speed rail lines, so passengers could travel the 50 miles to central London within 35 minutes."
