Message from Cllr Gail Engert:
"I thought you would like to know about the new Area Forum and Area Committee meetings that replace the Area Assemblies. The next meeting for Alexandra, Fortis Green, Highgate and Muswell Hill is on Thursday 16 June 2011, at the Royal British Legion, Muswell Hill Road, London N10 3NG at 6.30pm.
"The Forums that form the first part of the meeting are very much like the Area Assemblies, where issues will be aired and residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and put forward their views. The second part, the Area Committee, will be a public sitting of all the area's ward councillors, to discuss actions resulting from the discussions at the Forum, and also other matters pertaining to the local area.
"The Forum starts at 6.30pm with the following items on the agenda for discussion:
- The new Area Forum - brief explanation of the functions of the new arrangements for the Area Forum and recent changes to how the Council takes decisions and will answer questions.
- Pinkham Way - briefing on the processes, including consultation, for dealing with the planning application on Pinkham Way, with an opportunity for residents to ask questions on how they can be kept informed, where they can view the application and the supporting documentation, and make their comments.
- The new environment contract with Veolia - the Council has agreed that Veolia will provide a range of environmental services including some discretion on services at a local level. This short presentation will outline the choices available to the area and questions will be welcome.
- Pothole repair funding - how funding for pothole repairs has been allocated, what it can be used for and invite questions.
