 Alexandra Park Open Air Baths

Opened in 1875, in the grounds of Alexandra Palace, between the Race Course and the New River Reservoirs, near the present Sports Ground. Closure date not known, probably in the 1920s or 1930s.

There are various amusing complaints and reports about the state of the water, including:
"I entered the swimming bath. I saw a liquid of some kind, but not at all like pure water.

So, I bethought myself, that I must have made a mistake, and come either to a duck pond, or, on account of its proximity to the stables, a receptacle of animal refuse."

 Finally, Enfield

Yes, we were a little disappointed, as well.

Anyway, there's Southgate Leisure Centre and Arnos Grove Swimming Pool.
